Chamber Announces Promotion of West AlabamaWorks! Employee

 

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - The Chamber of Commerce of West Alabama announces the promotion of West AlabamaWorks! professional staff member NaTa’sha Black to Senior Project Manager, Modern Manufacturing Program.

 

Black previously served as Modern Manufacturing Project Manager, where she built partnerships and coordinated efforts of local business, industry and education officials to ensure the success of the Modern Manufacturing Program while serving as the liaison for the K-12 system and any private or public entity seeking information and assistance with the Modern Manufacturing Program.

 

“NaTa’sha does outstanding work,” said Donny Jones, Chief Workforce Officer of West AlabamaWorks! and Executive Vice President of the Chamber. “She’s an integral part of the success of the electric vehicle launch of Mercedes in our region. And, her relationships with suppliers in our region have been an invaluable asset to West Alabama,” said Jones.

 

In addition to her previous responsibilities, Black’s new role as Senior Project Manager, Modern Manufacturing Program, includes:

  • Coordinating with industry partners to assist participating school systems with equipment, materials, supplies procurement and student industry tours
  • Ensuring the outcomes of job placement and apprenticeships of students upon completion of the Modern Manufacturing program or high school graduation
  • Assisting the Deputy Executive Director and serving as the liaison to the staff and automotive cluster with workforce development activities

“I am happy to celebrate NaTa’sha’s promotion,” said Chamber President and CEO Kyle South. “I can already tell from my short time at the Chamber that NaTa’sha is a great asset to our team. I look forward to further developing my relationship with NaTa’sha and everyone on the Chamber and West AlabamaWorks! teams as I grow into my own new role,” said South.

 

Black joined the Chamber staff in September 2019. Prior to joining the Chamber and West AlabamaWorks!, she was the advertising manager and customer service manager of advertising with The Tuscaloosa News.

 

Black graduated with honors from Stillman College and received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration.

 

She also received her MBA in business from the University of Phoenix and is a 2006 graduate of Focus on Leadership and a 2018 graduate of Leadership Tuscaloosa.
